From the very beginning, My Lodge has served Lodges far beyond French-speaking borders. With version 4.1.2, the app takes a long-awaited step: it now speaks six languages. Italian, German and Portuguese join French, English and Spanish.
A full translation, not a façade
This is not just about the app's screens. The translation covers the entire journey: the mobile app and its web version, the e-mails and notifications sent to your members, the Lodge subscription portal and the my-lodge.com website. A German Brother receives his summons in German, reads the terms in his own language and manages his subscription without ever meeting a line of French.
The Lodge's vocabulary, in every language
This was the heart of the work. Machine translation would have turned “Tenue” into “outfit” and “Planche” into “wooden board”. Every term was therefore reworked according to each language's own usage: the meeting becomes Tornata, Tempelarbeit or Sessão; the paper becomes Tavola, Baustück or Prancha. The twenty-seven offices, the degrees and the vouching received the same care.
As with English and Spanish, each new language exists in a male, female and mixed variant. And every Brother or Sister chooses their own language, independently of their Lodge's: a single Lodge may bring together members reading the app in three different languages.
Verification opens to other traditions
Not every Obedience uses a yearly word. This version therefore extends Mason verification to three complementary paths: your own Lodge's vouching — as soon as one member is verified, their Brothers can be too; the Obedience password, yearly or half-yearly depending on custom; and, for Anglo-Saxon Obediences, human review of the masonic passport and dues certificate. In every case, the final decision rests with a person.
Mutual aid and fixes
The “I want to help” feature is now reserved for verified Masons with an address on file, a requirement for being located by nearby Brothers. Content reporting and moderation make their appearance. Finally, whole-Lodge subscription works again from iOS and Android, and image download is fixed on Android.
My Lodge 4.1.2 is available on the App Store and Google Play. Lodges already subscribed receive the update automatically.
